yardwork

There are some days where doing nothing is to much work.
Yesterday was that day for me. I had only gotten about an hour of sleep and so my Wednesday was lacking in energy and the drive to do much at all. I got what I had to do done...but that was it.
Last night I slept better and woke up feeling like I was a person not a zombie. I did my school run to drop of a student then went home with a mental list of my day's work. I got one of those things done. That involved getting my garden PVC pipe trellis set up. I did not take any pics of it today so will post about that later. But it is done and I am ready to start my seedlings.
I became distracted when I looked to the left of my garden.
I hate this disaster. It has been out of control for years. Even before I moved in this was getting out of control.
Today that changed.

I am so glad that the bricks have been moved and the thorns have been ripped from the ground. I feel bad for my husband who is now going to have to haul it down to the road to have it picked up on yard refuse day. But it is his fault he wont let me use the wheelbarrow.
In the clean up I discovered something so cool. These old clay pipes and these cool blocks. Inside every single on of the pipes was one or two almost fist size wasp nest. I am really glad it was cold because there were a few wasps in there that I had to terminate. I was expecting to find a snake or something under the bricks but thank goodness nothing like that was living under the vine covered bricks. I cant wait to come up with a way to use the pipes and blocks decoratively.
Ah I love the changes we are able to make to the house inside and out.
But alas, I won this battle (with the help of my hubby) and took back part of the yard so that it can be used again.
UPDATE!
Here is my little garden. I plan on expanding as I learn and become a better farmer. Right now I have solar lights in there but they will be moved. Don't mind the cat she is stalking me.

a little PVC pipe and a few screws...later to add string as the beans and cucumber grow.
