Sunday Work

Wow! 3 posts in one day...one evening. Yea!
Today was great. I got so much done.
I woke up to my phone ringing and my parents inviting us to Denny's for breakfast. Yummy!
Then I drove to my parents neighbor's house and got some filler.

I need more to finish filling it all in. It is a large area that gets all washed out every time it rains. So this plus some sand in the future will help solve the problem.
Next I finally got around to doing this.
After I got the hose off the ground I went to go fix a table sorta idea for my umbrella.
I had a round table top that is weathered and I wanted to reuse it for something and not throw it away. So I cut a sloppy slit in it. This is the finished product. Gavin loves it. I am happy with it.

Yes those are tires that are my umbrella base. The base for this particular umbrella is $80. I did not want to add sandbags as the base either. That is the second option the directions give you. So instead I had these tires not being used and wanting to be "green" and want to reuse them Jeff and I fashioned this. It works perfect. The umbrella has not fallen over once. It has weathered a few strong storms and this has worked well as a solution.
Now my tires are a table.
Gavin plays cooking on it. I think I might just paint on some burners for him and maybe tack on some knobs for him to have his little kitchen outside where he can make his patties or soup. Those are his favorite things to make.

I trimmed my Crape Myrtle tree. I helped Jefferson cut up a few large limbs that had fallen during the heavy rain we have had this past week. I cut pvc pipes to fit my garden for the climbing vines for peas and cucumber plants I want to have growing. I discovered I did not have the elbow joints needed to finish that project So I need to go to the Habitat for Humanity Re-Home store to get some for pennies if my parents don't have the right size needed.Other than the elbow joints needed I just have to screw the pipes onto my support beams for the garden. I also cleared out some dead bramble from my front walkway flowering bushes.
I already have my next big outside project.
This area is overgrown with weeds and thorns and vines. Somewhere in this mix is a red rose bush.

But look something pretty in my yard make me so happy.

Now Amazing Race is on and I get to watch this with my son. He cheers on the girls.

This is him worried because as he calls them, "his girls" were last.

See the worry. This is how he was until he realized that they were not going to lose.

 Then he is all smiles.
Two thumbs up for his team.
I like this shot cause in the window there is a reflection of "his girls"

And this is what place they are in. He loves the ladies.
