Since I wrote my owl post the other day I have had some people want me to post directions on how I did it.
Some pics were blurry. Sorry but you will get the point.
Tools:
Soft Felt of preferred colors
Stiff Felt of face color
scissors
chalk and sharpener
glue gun and sticks
ruler
double sided tape
and Pandora playing in the background (I put my phone in a bowl to get great sound)
I sharpen my chalk on a eyeliner sharpener....an extra one I had not one I use for my makeup
I measure out my long strips and mark them with my sharpened chalk. (I use chalk because it can be brushed off felt)
Once 3 strips of each of the main colors I then measure an inch then place second color on top with that inch gap.
now roll
when done with a strip I then used the double sized tape to keep it all together
I use the tape not glue so there is no lumps or bumps. Also it is easy.
add the second and then third strip. and keep wrapping. I then trim so that my black felt is on the outside and the blue stops before the black felt. I then hot to make sure it is a permanent hold.
I had my hubby freehand this shape. I like this style. Cut it out and brush off the chalk.
Grab your white felt for the detail for the eyes.
Fold it over about an inch at the edge
then cut a circle but leave the folded edge intact
trim to an even look and what size you want for the head.
Hot glue
I cut out circles for the eyes - those I had to trim till they were not pointy
I then cut a small triangle out of the yellow for my beak.
Glue with hot glue in desired location
Head and body done....
now the wings. I really liked the glittered wings
just a big tear drop shape
now assemble
yea I love them.
