Bedtime

I read to my son. I read most nights to my son. On the nights I don't, his daddy reads to him.
He loves being read too. I can understand that. Growing up, Friday's were the best night because we would eat as a family, and then gather around my dad and he would read to us these awesome books. We were taken away into these books. This time always ended to quickly and the three of us would beg for just one more chapter.
Now I get to have this happen with my son. I have not started reading chapter books to him as of yet, however I do read two books every night and he will beg for just one more book. Some days I can't say no to him so another book it is and there are other days that no just 2 books for that night.
I get to pick one book, then he gets to pick one book. The extra book he will also get to pick. I pick new books that we have not read from his bookshelf. He will mostly pick books he has really fallen in love with.
There are a few books that are on his re-read list.
Hello Baby by Mem Fox has been his number one book since it was given to him by Rachel Z.
Blueberries For Sal by Robert McCloskey he loves this book. It is read almost every night.
Is Your Mama a Llama? by Deborah Guarino was given to him by Granny Sandy
The Little Engine That Could & The Big Chase by Michaela Muntean borrowed from Uncle Bubba
Make Way For Ducklings by Robert McCloskey is quickly moving up on the list.
My Little Train by Satomi Ichikawa is a newer book we got at a yardsale and he loves it.
The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs By A.Wolf by Jon Scieszka I am not sure he really gets all the jokes in it but he thinks it is funny enough it has made it into the rotation of the book he gets to pick.
The Magic School Bus At The Waterworks by Joanna Cole He wants to go up in a cloud and fall as a raindrop.

There are other books that we re-read but those are the most popular books on his shelf.
